the Treasure Trove of South London's Golden Mile. At 43 Rye Lane,
Peckham, London, SE15, from 20th - 30th Aug 2007.

| Rye Lane was once known throughout
London for the quality of its shops and the variety of goods which
could be found there. It was known as the ‘Regent Street of South London’ as well
as ‘The Golden Mile’. Today, Rye Lane is still an important
shopping street, and although it may be lacking glamour, it still supplies
a bewildering range of goods. The Sense charity shop is the treasure
trove of the Golden Mile, a place where you can buy almost anything
and this is where its appeal lies. |
